Fellow Hunters:
As you are preparing for what we believe will be the finest Mule Deer
hunting experience ever, I have put together a list of items you might want to bring. We do not ask you to go out and see how much money you
can spend on new gear. Most of you can make do with
what already own. Please bring the rifle that
you are most comfortable shooting. We prefer anything larger than a .243. We also have a very good taxidermist, if you would like
to leave your heads in our care to be mounted.
| HUNTING
LICENSE AND CONSERVATION STAMP |
| SLEEPING
BAG (we have plenty of pillows) |
| Slippers for indoors (NO SHOES allowed in lodge) |
| Rifle (semi-automatics are not wanted; they scare the hell out of me & the
guides!) |
| Two boxes of ammo (stay away from ballistic tip bullets, they do uncalled-for damage) |
| Pair of good hunting boots |
| Plenty of socks |
| Rifle sling |
| Long underwear |
| Flashlight |
| Extra shirts |
| Warm gloves |
| Scope covers |
| Sunglasses |
| Camera & film |
| Knife |
| Jeans & belt |
| Light rain jacket & pants |
| Cap & winter hat |
| Light jacket & warm coat |
| Binoculars (your guide will be touchy about you asking to use his!) |
| Spotting scope & range finder (not necessary, your guide will have these) |
One item of orange I prefer an orange cap in WY but MT
hunters need 400 sq. in. of orange such as an
inexpensive quiet cloth vest. |
Personal items towel, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. |
Camo clothing is great! |
| Small day pack or fanny pack |
Be prepared for all types of weather - it can be 10-80
degrees, hot or cold, wet or dry, and rain or snow. These
are just suggestions - use you own judgment. We do not furnish alcohol, so if you wish to
drink please bring you own. NO DRINKING IS ALLOWED UNTIL YOU ARE FINISHED HUNTING
AT THE END OF THE DAY. I am concerned
about the welfare of my guides.
We are looking forward to meeting you and making your dream hunt come
true. If you have any question, please dont
hesitate to call. |
